    antipsychotics do not feel good

whoever posted this has never been on those drugs

also, u shouldn’t take iron if you don’t have a deficiency. it’s a pretty bad idea actually

Might be aimed at women. Most women who have periods are iron deficient due to blood loss during their periods, and most of the difference between mens and womens multivitamins is extra iron for this reason. But also, you can just eat some red meat or spinach

        that doesn’t explain the antipsychotics

women that don’t have periods shouldn’t be taking iron without blood testing either

      is the source your arse?

it is fine to consume iron rich foods when you don’t have an iron deficiency. iron supplements don’t really work most of the time, except the iv one, that fucker works just fine.

you want to raise your hemoglobin? eat liver (cooked of course).

how much did you used to take in iron supplements? in mg/day.

several members of my family have a history of anemia, and supplements never worked that well for us (supplements are prescribed at 100mg pill once daily). the best thing we can do, is eat liver once a week or twice a month.

the page you linked to seems to be more about poisoning from supplements (it talks about consuming 4000+mg of iron supplements at once) and hereditary iron irregularity than it is about high iron level. also it states that excessive iron buildup from diet alone is not common.

of course don’t take supplements unless prescribed, but don’t shy away from iron rich food (unless told by you doctor).

Antipsychotics can really help if you need them, but Jesus Christ no they do not make you feel good. Most of them make you feel dead inside, just completely fucking numb to life. That can be better than without, but they are not a cure. They’re a treatment for a symptom, with serious side effects.

Sometimes those side effects can be permanent too, like eyes and tongue moving around without you wanting them to.

Well low-dose antipsychotics are a thing, too. I’m on them and I don’t feel “bad” or anything. I can never tell if they are helping me or not tho, same as any other psych med I’ve tried. Only difference is that I have not had any behavioral dyscontrol at work since taking them. May or may not be related. I never know. At least I’m no longer being threatened to be terminated.

Mirtazapine instead of the antipsychotic, it’s an anti depressant that’s helped my sex drive mentally and physically. So happy I have it a try.

You can grow vegetables. Most are pretty cheap if you go to stores like Aldi. They sell a 2 pack of zucchini for like $2. Zucchini my friend. One of the tastiest veggies there is.

And there are many ways to manage stress. You can choose healthy or unhealthy options.

I ain’t saying that choice is easy or without work. I’m mearly pointing out that we all have agency.

I wish I could grow vegetables. I’ve killed so many plants trying to get into the hobby that I had to retire to stop terrorizing the local plant populations.
