An Oklahoma man has been charged with manslaughter after authorities say he fatally shot his neighbor during target practice with a gun he’d purchased for himself as a Christmas gift.

    1. Treat every weapon as though it is loaded and chambered.
    2. Never aim your weapon at anything you do not intend to destroy.
    3. Keep your trigger finger straight and along the receiver until you intend to fire.
    4. Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire.
    5. Always be aware of your target and that which lies beyond it.
