He was well before this. When he was in his local town hall complaining that they were making affordable housing near him and letting “the poors” get too close.

I didn’t hate him when he made trans jokes, i just don’t find them funny and everyone should be allowed to not be funny. But i found it truly disgusting when he pulled elon musk on stage just to show off his wealthy friend. What a disgusting human being.

When Richard Pryor came back from Africa he said there were so many different types of people there and vowed never to use the n-word ever again.

When Dave Chappele came back from africa he said there were a lot of broke n***ers over there and vowed never to turn down a dollar ever again.

Honestly I stopped watching it halfway through when I realized it was just gonna be a jerk fest. Some of it was funny but the whole thing felt like comedy for controversy’s sake rather than controversy for comedy’s sake. It just felt… forced in a way that I didn’t really vibe with. I think his circular style is kinda trite at this point too, the older he gets the more rambly it all feels.

And made a shit ton of money bringing laughter to slavers while we work ourselves to death and suffer from having a conscience. We really do need to get together and figure out how to actually start changing things without self imploding. Evil is very much winning.

Gunna hard disagree with you homie. If Dave has any artistic dignity he would not have performed if they preemptively censored him.

So either he is a shill, or he’s a shitty person and a shill.

Don’t know if there is a good way out for the piece of shit.

Did he actually make any references to trans issues? Are there recordings of this comedy festival?

I ask because that line "my anti-trans jokes went over very well in Saudi Arabia” sounds to me like an intentional troll, a way to say that he got to talk about whatever he wants while poking fun at the controversy he stirred up a few years ago. As a joke in and of itself, that works even if he didn’t actually have any trans jokes in his set.

I can’t tell if your serious but he absolutely did not get to talk about what ever he wanted. Their jokes were limited and had to be vetted beforehand.

He actually got to talk about whatever he wanted in America. He just didn’t like people telling him his jokes were bad and he was being bigoted

“They said, ‘Well, Saudi Arabia killed a journalist,’ and rest in peace, Jamal Khashoggi. I’m sorry that he got murdered in such a heinous fashion. And also, look, bro, Israel’s killed 240 journalists in the last three months, so I didn’t know y’all were still counting.”

see Dave Chapelle does know how to be funny, shame he’s backed himself into a corner, but it’s deliberate and he’s benefitting significantly

I’m sure the proud boys or kkk would love some of the racist jokes I’ve heard at work.

I wonder how Chapel would appreciate them.

It boggles my mind that this is the same guy who walked away from a multi-year, multimillion dollar TV deal with Comedy Central because he saw a white dude laughing a little too hard at his jokes about race. The fact that he could have that moment of reflection, but not extend it to other marginalized groups, just shows the complete lack of empathy he has in his soul.

Also a little weird since his show was touted as being funny to everybody.

The whole Comedy Central thing never sat well with me. Here’s my poor ass listening to this rich mother fucker who made it big, complain about how other rich fuckers “took his money”. It was never relatable, and it just felt like rich people feuding to me. That’s when I started to see Dave as a wealthy man first and above all. My instinct proved true when he just got worse and worse and became less and less human.

He can visits the hood and pretend he’s still from the streets all he wants, even though he never was. But I ain’t buying it. He likely gets back in his truck and uses the sanitizer and complains about the little people like diddy. He’s a fake and has no idea how real people live and think. He only hangs out with billionaires.

The first time I heard Chappelle was the ‘Killing Them Softly’ show where he did a bit about how he didn’t want to get famous. He should have stuck with that.
