I like Fedora plasma the best personally, but the gnome version requires configuration to just get a minimize button and it also needs rpm fusion configured and codecs installed.
That is why I don’t like to recommend this for a newbie.

To be fair, Apple hardware typically lasts for a long time. My wife has a 5 year old m1 air and we have no plans to replace it anytime soon.
We have been out the past few hours working and she went from like 50% to maybe 30-40% in that time.

I really wish people could get together and just agree to recommend like 1 of 3 distros to people and put their personal y preferences aside.
Once people actually switch and use Linux for some time they can figure out what is actually best for them.
I say it should be,
Mint Kubuntu Maybe bazzite (I’ve never used it, but I’ve heard it’s popular for gaming.)

Thanks! I didn’t know this. Especially about the department of defense.

People say the name was changed illegally. I’m out of the loop on this, why is it illegal for their name to be changed?

I won’t buy a car without CarPlay.
My current car has it and I love it. So I imagine Android users feel the same way.
If there is truly no option, then my phone is getting the window/airvent mount option.
I’ll never subscribe to their bs.

I remember that rumor for windows 11, I was really hopeful.
I don’t think they really make money in windows itself.
Why don’t they just come to linux and sell their server stuff there to keep people in that ecosystem?

So I guess it’s a Mozilla problem and not Apple

No, and it’s annoying because Safari’s extensions I’ll let you install ad blockers, but they won’t work on Firefox even though it’s still Safari

Wait! Is that why people think his hand is always bruised?

What does this actually change? Also, why not just legalize it?

My wife and I are. We had an a pretty nice dinner and snacks last year and they’re before for Christmas.
This year, we are debating whether we will even get a cake.
Don’t get me wrong, we are not so poor we can’t afford a cake, but maybe it’s better to save the money or spend it on other things.

OMG. These plans are getting on my nerves.
When a parent gives a kid their device and sets the child’s birthday, then enable these. If the birthday is over 18, the let them do what they want.
Let parents parent the kid and get the government out of my life.

Anyone who asks me about this is getting the “At least try Linux for free first before buying a new computer.
Another example I have is that my mother-in-law is retired. You think she needs a new computer? Nope! She’s getting Linux before a new computer. The only other option for her would be an iPad since she’s just browsing the web anyway.
I miss the days of windows xp, that was middle school to early high school for me. It was around that time when I switched to mac.
Still have random memories of random windows stuff.
