cats@lemmy.world•UPDATE: Kitty was rescued and is safe! This poor cat has been stuck for 5 days, and Xcel Energy is refusing to turn off electricity so the cat can be rescued
1·13 minutes agoIf their back up system fails then it’s their fault for not keeping it up to date. Seriously, my husband is an engineer who designs these battery systems. They do not “fail” if they are maintained and replaced properly.

15·10 hours agoIf the newspaper article doesn’t get them to do it, then this is the way.
Not my kitty - this was posted anonymously to one of the cat groups I follow.
That’s why I loved it and had to post. Pure chaos!
I agree. In my comment, my hope is for some magic removal of religion to where it just doesn’t exist as a concept anymore.
In reality, your way is the way to go.

cats@lemmy.world•Update on Bonnie after parvo ; she is doing great and now has found an adopter in Switzerland!
1·2 days agoYay, Bonnie! Go live a happy life in Switzerland, you lucky kitty.
This might be an unpopular opinion… but I would go for removing religion altogether. I’m not saying it doesn’t do any good, I’m saying the harm outweighs the good. And it would also remove a lot of the anti-vaxxers.
And all kinds of other various pests. Bats are a huge help to the agricultural industry, saving them billions in pest control. They also pollinate! They are very important night pollinators. Finally, they carry seeds in their poop, helping repopulate forests. Losing bats would be an ecological tragedy of the highest order.

OOP: “My Dad lives in Arkansas. He has been feeding an outdoor cat for over a year. He wasn’t sure she’d be able to survive this bad ice-storm, so he gently trapped her in the garage last week, to save her. She got blankets, a space-heater, and lots of food and cuddles. Now she doesn’t want to go back outside.”

Pic of Ziggy:

I’m not the OOP, but I also hope he keeps the kitten.
That’s also a great explanation. And the cat indeed looks sad…
How could I forget this law of cat!

Have you not read the article? People tried, ladders don’t reach, firefighters need Xcel to turn off power.
Edit: Kitty was saved!
