How wonderful to have him live such a long life! We lost our girl to cancer before she turned 10, it would have been great to have her another decade.
I’d be worried that leaving it would warp it after a while, so it won’t lay properly.

All cats are, in their own unique way, just weird little guys

How can we be held liable for sinking this ship? We put a bandaid on every leak that was reported to us!

I often think about an Arthur C. Clarke book—I think Songs of Distant Earth?—that has a colony of humans that solves all the big debate questions facing their society anonymously through the internet, which has completely solved the problem of judging ideas based on who said them.
Bless the optimists.

I can only imagine that’s the case, but it also seems plausible that it could kick in when you’re in space and not earth, since you actually get a break from the Vomit Comet and other training exercises.
It’s probably something else regardless, inescapable vertigo was just my first thought.

Okay, but they’re not saying that about a child of color. They’re saying it about DHS coming in and throwing people to the ground. I’m sorry that happened to you, but it’s not really relevant.

“They don’t care. They’re just animals. I’ve never seen people behave like this.
You know it’s fucking dire if someone that works at a school says that.

Stable condition, but whatever condition is also serious enough to warrant returning to earth. I hope the astronaut is alright, but that combo makes me really curious what’s wrong. It could be almost anything of course, but I’ve heard some people get extreme vertigo without gravity, so I wonder if that’s it.

Oops, you only counted men as people? Women 65+ did not in fact ”overwhelmingly” vote for Trump, since you need at least 50% of the vote to do that.
55% of men is an interesting definition of “overwhelming” as well, especially considering women outnumber men aged 65+, and the difference only becomes more pronounced as people get older.
As long as 55% is the bar for ‘overwhelming’ Trump support that shows you should be numb to the death by starvation of anyone fitting that demographic, here are some that voted equally or more for Trump:
Let’s just shrug if they die of starvation, right? Since statistics both dictate morality and assign blame?

Unless it’s 100% you’re still doing guilt by demographics. If thinking about that makes you uncomfortable, good! That’s a messed up thing to do. Do we have to do the whole ‘you can’t tell who someone is by looking at them’ song and dance again? The last half century is full of people eloquently writing and speaking about why that’s fucked.
My grandmother passed before the 2024 election, but she hated Trump. There are people younger than you all in on Trump. Generational divides that frame one generation as evil and another as morally pure are fake shit that keeps you from learning from elders who know how to show up and get shit done.

Thankfully you would never commit the moral crime of getting old, right? Since we’re doing guilt by demographic?

55% of Republicans/Republican-leaning people own or have a gun in the house, vs 31% for Democrats/Democrat-leaning

The second example doesn’t give an abbreviation as the origin of the link to rap sheet, is what I was saying; records, arrests, and prosecutions to mean RAP instead of rap sounds like a backronym.

I don’t see anywhere on there that gives the etymology as an abbreviation? Etymonline gives the following:
rap(n.)
early 14c., rappe, “a quick, light blow; a resounding stroke,” […] native or borrowed from a Scandinavian source
Slang meaning “a rebuke, the blame, responsibility” is from 1777; specific meaning “criminal indictment” (as in rap sheet, 1960) is from 1903
