I have made my sleeping schedule 30 minutes earlier due to our cat. He also knows when its bed time, and will let me know its bed time so that he can clean himself on me for 15 minutes before leaving and terrorizing mice until the exact moment the sun rises. I used to joke saying “well he knows what’s best for us” when waken up at like 5am. Not a very popular joke at that time in the morning.
We have a churu time now too. Just everything is a routine and if you do something new he expects to do it again the next day. One day I brought him out and we hung out by a fallen tree sitting enjoying outside. Next day he wanted to go sit at the tree again.
I helped him dig a hole to pee in and now when we are on a walk first thing in the morning its my job to dig him a potty.
And you have to stick to a schedule or they start acting out in some way. Out cat meows at us while staring every 20 minutes, or will try to initiate play and do a trill noise, then promptly run away trying to get us to chase him. He will run up and down the stairs and through the house, or up the truck of a tree if hes outside. If he gets playtime and his routine in hes content and will sleep the rest of the day. Otherwise he is very disruptive to what you have to do in the day.
