I’m going to give a sovcit speech then instead of insisting the laws don’t apply, because I kind of live on the beach, they just only apply if it stays on theme. Community service? Not valid unless they specify ‘beach cleanup’ or ‘cleaning barnacles off of boats’. Jail? No. Has to be ship’s brig.

I watched a few performances of these people in court. It’s absolutely wild. Where do they get these ideas? Now I have this (likely unhealthy) desire to look at what these conversations look like. Do they have forums for these insane people?
same place as q-anon gets their ideas: from the dankest shitholes of the internet, festering with ‘patriots’ who dodge taxes and sovereign citizens who get medicaid and social security.
I love what the internet has given us, but often wonder if it was worth it or if there should have been some kind of test for basic logic people should demonstrate before being given unfettered access to the thing…
