When someone has a crisis, instead of a receiving a meaningful intervention at the source of the crisis, they often will simply be locked in a hospital and forced to take drugs, offered no other support. They can stay confined as long as an accountable judgment is maintained that they are not adequately stable, and have essentially no rights in the interim. The whole system is farcical.
