I guess, it’s always been a democracy amongst the oligarchy. Though actually I’m pretty sure that’s not true either.
Better 250 years of imperfect Democracy than millennia Monarchy.
Depends how imperfect, I guess. If it’s functionally a Monarchy anyway, then it really doesn’t matter what you call it.
