Wow this is cool,. New to meshtastic, you popped up in my feed. I have questions.

1. is this voice or text?
2. looks like you can get pretty inexpensive kits on Amazon for about $30. Do I have to have anything else to get started? Base station required?
3. website looks like it’s got some great documentation with a lot of depth, but is there like a quick top level overview that helps me understand what this does/how it works?

1. text, and this device sends the text to your phone which explains why there are so few buttons/input options on it.

I’m still curious about the base station.

Ok, but-- even once you transition to a new service the old addresses are embedded in all kinds of places, user forums, documentation, git commits, etc. Just setting up and using a different service doesn’t make that go away.

My guess is dollar general is the source.

For sure! Raspberry Pi started as an education foundation and a big target audience is kids/the classroom. There’s BEST Robotics which in my area was hit pretty tragically by COVID, but there is VEX as well. And did you know you can probably dual boot Linux from your school issued Chromebook so that you can program Lua for your Roblox mod? I didn’t! A kid taught me.

Sometimes you have to give people some room to grow. This might be a way to get her to confront it, but you will forever be the bad guy even after she has learned the lesson.

I have learned this the hard way many times. My sense of justice and being ‘right’ are pretty high.

This is a really good strategy. In addition to your reasoning re. Social prrssure – the asynchronous coms may give them some time to get over their gut reaction. It requires a little more effort to compose the email, and might just give her enough time to realize she doesn’t need the details or she’s got other things to worry about.

It also gives others a message board where she can perhaps get more context if others ask clarifying questions or have any kind of follow up response. And, critically, if she determines that she still needs more information to do her job, then she’s got to confront that she needs someone to help. If she comes to ask questions after that, then maybe she will be in a better frame of mind to listen.

I got some little baggies intended to hold stamps (as part of a magazine feature) and received a sit down talk about marijuana.

Just got a retro handheld for a gift. Package looked a little suspicious with no way to tell if it had ever been opened. SD card reader broken. Sad to return it a few days before Christmas with no chance at replacing in time.
