To be more technical correct, all ideals go out of the window the moment a shareholder pushes a little.

Apple has been one of the wealthiest countries for years, they don’t need money, they can’t be doing this just for money.

They are doing it, to get more money yes, but only in order to make the angle of a line go up so they can sell a comfortable illusion to the people keeping them in charge of the available unimaginable mass of wealth already there.

As someone who loves science.

I am so glad i decided to pursue video game development as higher education rather then a scientific field.

Granted the illusions in games are gone, every game is now a dull collection of mechanics and The gap between what modern games are snd how i know they could be is depressingly vast.

But at least i can still enjoy hour long deep dives into quantum mechanics and golden ratio. Definitely a good tradeoff.

People have hooked up scripts to automate trade based on celebrities using certain hashtags or other data for years.

A non insignificant portion of people has absolutely hooked up an ai to it. I don’t know any, but i take that bet in a heartbeat.

Some will do it responsibly, as an experiment with money they are prepared to loose.

Ai companies themselves might try this as an internal test, like how atrophic has claude managing a real vending machine (which got manipulated into selling tungsten cubes following customer feedback)

Others have probably completely destroyed their own lives. A few may have lucked out.

If its critical, don’t give it to ai without having a secured backup it can’t touch.

If you have epilepsy, watch out so you don’t randomly see something that could potentially kill you.

Its like they have never used ai, these things are everything but frictionless.

The whole thing reads like an excuse to train on shopping data, promising to trow a bone to individual sellers so they wont complain as much.
