That’s Scalia’s interpretation, but that’s not how it was always interpreted. Why do you think they were able to ban machine guns in the first place, and then have it upheld by the Courts for going-on 100 years? It was believed that a “well regulated militia” should refer to actual militias, not just “any random asshole that can afford a gun”. That was the common interpretation for a century.

That’s the trick - it can be interpreted however we want. It’s all made up. It used to mean one thing, then it meant something else.

So, the question is, why did the interpretation change? Did Scalia just really love freedom? Or was there, maybe, another agenda?

You’re right, I was exaggerating. There are some extremely loose, weak gun controls that mean every 11 year old isn’t able to buy a machine gun. This is included in the amendment, the “well regulated militia” part, it’s basically the only reason there are any gun control laws at all. Even so, the laws that do exist are very loose compared to any other English speaking country.

But why? The “well regulated militia” part could have been interpreted to say that you have to join a militia to own a gun, or that you have to pass rigorous tests and renew your license and undergo home inspections, or make gun auctions illegal so that every gun owner can be registered and tracked. That would all have been perfectly in-line with the 2nd Amendment.

We didn’t do that. The question is, why?

They’ve already been chiseling away at all of the Bill of Rights for decades, yet for some reason they don’t touch guns. Why is that?

The Bolsheviks are a good example. They started the revolution with the workers and peasants, because that’s the only way to start a revolution, but when the government turns the military on its own people they could then recruit them to the revolution.

Your employer already governs your livelihood through your paycheck.

That’s why employers should be elected, not just be rich people that can afford to hire workers.

I don’t think you read it. You said " it has no bearing on their life until it is distributed." It was being distributed! You said " They need to be taught how to gather evidence and the correct places to report such things." They did that too, they went to the school and the police. What the fuck else were they supposed to do? Steal their phones to gather evidence? Get real.

It was only when they beat these little pigglets’ asses that the police actually got serious, now the boys are facing charges.

We can reasonably search the phones of teenagers that are trading child porn. It just didn’t happen because, I guess, the school and police didn’t care about what is essentially a child porn trading network that was exploiting and hurting young girls.

They need to be reminded that when someone does something like generating a deepfake of them, it has no bearing on their life until it is distributed. They need to be taught how to gather evidence and the correct places to report such things.

Someone needs to remind you how to fucking read, because the images were being distributed and that was why the girls went to the guidance counselor and the police before resorting to violence.

So, we’re trapping them in debt slavery so that we can steal their natural resources. They die, we profit. Win/Win

Also, it’s not like those profits go to us. They go to the manufacturers and their investors, with only some coming back in the form of wages. It’s mostly a way to take public dollars and then hand it out to political donors. Win/Win/Win

It’s our decision whether we give them billions of dollars of weapons.
