I think the biggest issue with Meshtastic is the dependence on a proprietary hardware standard. So there is definitely a risk there and the developers of Meshtastic software should probably consider supporting the more open Wi-Fi HaLow (802.11ah) standard in addition.

Its all about shifting liability to the customer. If something goes wrong they can find a reason why it was the customer’s fault.

The idea as a PoC is not bad, but it would probably make more sense to use an open standard like GNU Taler for it and only do the data transmission over Meshtastic.
