Can’t somebody just boot a thumb drive?
This has gotten me especially curious about Tails.


I tried it, but kept running into old flames.


It makes me wonder if RHEL will get (or at least lobby for) some kind of carveout, since their intended customers are corporations. It would be really impractical at vest to try to make some headless server try to verify its age.

The last company to do this iirc was Motorola in 1997. You can buy them on the secondary market now for about 80 cents.
I’ve been on Garuda for years now, and despite choosing an Arch derivative, I have zero (0) desire to ever change any kind of config, and I will never understand the desire to do so. I need my PC to actually work.
