GUI is simpler because you have to remember a sequence of steps for every action you want to take and then memorize a bunch of keyboard shortcuts and then do it all again when they reinvent their product in two weeks.

CLI requires you to learn how your system is structured and where things are located and then you create scripts that last years. Not everyone wants to put in a bunch of effort just to use their computer.

Anyways Firefox just updated and they moved “save to collection” and a few other things so now I need to relearn some stuff. I hope my other apps don’t reinvent themselves anytime soon. Every update I know how to use them less and less.

All of the people in this thread are mad because they use slop code generation and now their slop is being used to train the slop generators.

If they can take an entire repo because a contribution was tainted, that’s wrong. But otherwise I don’t care because it’s normal to use usage metrics to improve software and most importantly I don’t use AI so I don’t have anything for them to take.

Looking through the things PRS does, I wonder why anyone would join. Why call yourself an artist when you contribute to an entity that stops people from playing music to animals or whistling to themselves?

Like seriously. It’s a group of artists going around shutting down parties. Musicians telling everyone to go home. Probably thinking “it’s not my fault, it’s the industry, if I want my fair share I HAVE to bully individuals and small businesses.”

I wonder what it means. If you search for music by Suicidal Tendencies then YouTube shows you a suicide hotline. What does it mean for OpenAI to say people are talking about suicide? They didn’t open up and read a million chats… they have automated detection and that is being triggered, which is not necessarily the same as people meaningfully discussing suicide.
