It is much different than this. Edge is built on the Chromium engine, but that’s it. Waterfox is Firefox, as it’s shipped by Mozilla, only with some theme changes and flags disabled.

Indeed, that was my point. I am not sure that Mozilla pays someone to work on it, at this point. It’s likely the passion project of a couple of employees.

Librewolf is just a set of patches on top of Firefox.
There are no developers.
No money you donate to Mozilla Foundation goes to either Firefox (MozCorp) or Thunderbird (MZLA).
They are separate entities.
