I’m the kind that will try to install Arch from scratch, multiple times if needed and when I get a barely working desktop with Hyprland I switch to cachy os with KDE Plasma. Because that just works and I learned what I wanted from the scratch install. Edit: Anything I host probably runs Debian, anything I have to support(parrents) runs Linux Mint or Ubuntu.

I get where you’re coming from. But as something of an enthusiast myself I don’t always know GUI tools for all the tasks I can do in a terminal. Edit: typos
I jumped from bash to fish because cachy os has it as default. I kinda don’t like it, it’s a little too fancy, but it’s not bad enough for me to bother switching the default to bash. So I’m using it. Still not quite liking it but maybe it’s growing on me.
But I do, do that regularly. Why is it improper?
But what about
pacman -SsSync search? P.S. I like pacman, just that this combination of flags is a bit weird for me personally.
If I’m not mistaken, dnf is to yum as yay is to pacman. Edit: don’t shoot me I’m relatively new to arch based distros, AUR is scary.

Edit: changed my mind. While I don’t agree. This is not a bad idea.
