The US needs a huge kick in the balls. We’ve become much much much too full of ourselves. Not just this one wanabee tyrant, but the whole country needs a shake down. We don’t own the world and the world doesn’t OWE us anything. We’re not better than others unless we earn it. Having a bunch of self righteous white supremacist religious nutjobs elect the world’ greediest narcissist to the presidency pretty much means we dun fucked up as a civilization and now the whole world gets to pay for it.

Given the current US leadership, it probably is.

That I can definitely agree with. US manufacturing is so crippled by capitalism that the results are squeezed into barely functional pieces of shit. Efficiency for the shareholders is king.
I’m always glad to see when someone like Canada has some pride in their products and not just making the shittiest thing that’ll still sell.

So far Canadians have been smart enough to hold the line. Don’t bend and don’t believe the liars in charge of the US. This administration would gladly invade anyone and subjugate them.
Never 51. Elbows Up, Canada. It’s time to line brawl on the ice.
Nothing but the basics that way!
The hardest core version I saw someone do that was long ago. My best friend and I were using OpenBSD back in early 2000’s. He installed a minimal install. From there he pulled the source tree makefiles. Then he started running make on Mozilla (pre firefox days). He just kept building, patching, fixing, and hammering away. Eventually he built the whole GUI environment, dependencies, and Mozilla which took that computer months to complete it all.
Today, he’s the lead engineer for a massive tech company.
The annoying younger sibling?
After a run of RedHat - Fedora - OpenBSD - OSX to about 2007, I gave Debian more of a try in the form of #! Linux. That was a great minimalist distro. Ever since then it’s just one Debian variant or another. It does the job with minimal fuss.
It really helps that I don’t push the hardware with shiny new equipment or need much in 3D drivers. Linux Mint on desktops, Debian servers, Ubuntu only for driver issues, Raspian/Armbian on SBCs.

It’s a terrible attempt at bread and circuses in the waning power of a wannabe dictatorship https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_circuses

The important piece of this to me is this: She made $1 mil on OnlyFans and $42k/year as a teacher. She wants to be a teacher despite making plenty of money from other sources. This tells me that unless you have other evidence of impropriety she’s someone we want in the classroom. It also reinforces my stance, along with plenty of other studies that have been performed, that a universal basic income won’t stop people from working.
Pay people better and we’ll just keep working because we like it. It’s part of being human, but we shouldn’t be suffering to survive at the same time.
Conservatives hate learning and education because they’re in favor of slavery for the masses. No one who reads history is surprised: news at 11.
