2·7 days agoNot to mention the organization, activists, and literal training on how to handle things like this. From watching Portland and Chicago deal with ICE, to having dealt with Riots just a few years ago we’ve got a pretty damn good system now.
I’ve only seen 3 videos/3angles covering this specific one, but you can see many many more people filming.
Not to mention this is Minnesota, we’ve been prepared for this kind of thing for awhile. Any kind of incident here was going to be recorded and broadcast everywhere because we’ve learned what happens with George Floyd.
None showing him unmasked, any pretending to show his face unmasked is just an AI rendition. Please don’t spread misinformation.
Personally being on an instance with no down votes I was pretty similar in thinking. Over time though I’ve realized downvotes are just another avenue for anger, there’s no need for them. It removes significant amounts of stress not worrying about it.
Were here to discuss, chat, and learn new and intriguing things. Up and Down votes don’t matter, block that annoying asshole, tag the contrarian, just worry about yourself and the typical woes of social media subside considerably.

Prohibition is entirely irrelevant, I never said to ban Alcohol i said it should be far more restrictive. Yet we do still have laws restricting alcohol like you point out, with it being you need to be 21. You can also look at car related deaths due to alcohol, compare a lax laws and restrictive state like Wisconsin versus Minnesota, which has far more consequences for drinking while driving.
You don’t get rid of guns, you heavily restrict them, require a purpose, and also have to adhere to quite a few rules for the privilege. Our current firearm laws are an absolute joke, and the gun death/crime rate shows. There actually are quite a few examples that you could look at, for instance Switzerland has a comparable gun ownership percent. Yet they don’t have school shootings, gun violence, and all the other problems that USA does.
I really really wonder why that is. I personally don’t care to argue with you, because no matter how many sources or stats that I showed you, you would never care. So, if you actually cared about gun safety and having proper restrictions and laws on them, go look at literally any other country and how they handle guns, because this is such a uniquely American problem with such an easy solution that you just don’t want to accept.
Alcohol should indeed be far more restrictive, so you’re argument there kinda falls flat.
Also most people advocate for getting rid of any potential deaths? But because people also die while drowning, that means guns shouldn’t also be further restricted and managed?
The same goes for cars, drugs, drinking, poison warnings. It doesn’t matter what causes the death, we try to limit it as best as we can, and not make excuses that some deaths are okay just so you can pretend to be a big strong man with a gun.

I used to carry one around for work, the butane ones.
They were great for field technicians, they would work for 3 or 4 solders then be out of butane or just simply stop working for the day lol. Definitely could have been just a shitty style, but it was never the most reliable tool in my bag!

Matrix sadly doesn’t have the bots, apj, or infrastructure that Discord has. Not to mention its a horrible alternative to Discord, not having permissionable channels is a deal breaker…
Trust me, I want to abandon this ship more than anything but my games/orgs/clans rely heavily on a lot of discord automation that just isn’t even possible in Matrix.
