What about after surviving the initial disaster? During the rebuilding? Or the ongoing survival?
Long-distance radios are useful as hell in stuff like The Last of Us.

Apple TV is a great service. It’s like Netflix pre-Enshittification. You don’t need Apple devices to use it.
Also you can just pirate it.
One does not simply walk into more door.

Good ol’ GRPD. They made a whole show on HBO Max to try to improve their image, and then they turn around and do shit like this.

They really should anyway. The Switch showed almost a decade ago how popular the handheld form factor can be when powerful enough, and the Steam Deck has capitalized on that beautifully. At this point a significant component in my purchasing of games is looking for that “Steam Deck Verified.”
Good, always use vet-approved pet food for your pets.
But I’ll definitely take some fried potatoes covered with salt for myself. Nothing artificial about it, just processed.

Or maybe they just actually know diversity is a good thing that helps a company make better products.
Oh absolutely.

I’m not surprised by that. Apple does plenty of evil shit, and has straight-up bribed Trump because it’s the wise business move, but they’ve been ostensibly “socially progressive” for most of the company’s history.

I mean, how many companies are maintaining their DEI programs these days?
I’m not gonna say Chick-fil-A are perfect angels, but the article is about a guy who is upset because one of the locations in Utah celebrated a gay marriage and corporate backed them up. That’s a very different Chick-fil-A than in 2012.
British candy fucks, though.
I went to do this, only to find that I had texted them SQUID back in 2022. I learned then that firefly squid flash lights to attract their prey!

I have a personal domain I use for email, with an address set up as [email protected]
Most people understand this just fine, but sometimes forms don’t work with .family as a TLD. EVERY NOW AND THEN, though, someone cannot comprehend an email address that doesn’t end in Gmail.com.
When I arrived to have some work done on my car recently the person on the phone had recorded my email as: [email protected]. Like, the actual word “at” was in there. I had never said anything about Gmail. And when I corrected it after arriving at the shop, their form had no issue with the .family TLD.
I think some people genuinely don’t understand that Gmail and email aren’t synonymous.

It led me to watch that entire “tournament,” it was pretty fun!

I didn’t come into the discussion to defend AI. I came into the discussion to correct you on Photoshop. It still does everything it always has done. It just also has AI tools. It isn’t built around AI.
Hate AI all you want, I will not defend AI.

So in your mind it’s a binary between:
“I will use nothing machine-learning based”
And
“AI tech bro”
Being able to easily select or erase things is something Photoshop has always been good at, but sometimes the machine-learning (or “AI”) versions of those tools perform better.

I might not have the most recent version, though mine does update. It still has the same set of tools it has always had, it just also has some (sometimes quite useful) “AI” tools.
Maybe? It’s been a while.
No, but it is basically how Santa worked, as seen in Hogfather.
Gods are a species that become more powerful the more worshippers they have and essentially powerless when they have no followers, as seen in Small Gods.
True, you make a good point.
I did know I was referring to an apocalyptic scenario rather than an emergency one. The giveaway was that I was replying to this comment:
