I’m using PPC64, which isn’t even an officially supported architecture anymore, so it’s always good reminding the Debian team that we exists.

I have 16 Megs of RAM. I’m not going to waste 50% of it on a damn text editor.
I spend several hours cursing the creators of Golang for making their language so annoying to compile on anything but the most common architectures.
Then I realised I could compile micro-2.14 with gcc-go…
Emacs* is bloatware
Vims just bloat on ed
ed is the only answer.

Autocompletions in fish also take history into account, which saves you a lot of typing in the long run.
Fish shell script is much more sensibly constructed than bash so it’s just much easier to write a script in fish.
I would really recommend you try fish.
It has a lot of nice autocomplete features and handles functions much better than bash. It has a very sensible autoconfig so you can just install and try it.
Zsh can be configured in quite a lot of ways. It’s default config is quite similar to bash.

That’s from an IBM Power 720. Really nice system. It uses the POWER 7 architecture which has a lot of nice features including LPARs (logical partitions) (basically virtualisation without any performance penalty). It’s from 2010 so it’s quite a bit newer than the G5.
