That classification is the general information section, and deals with info and not how its used. Seems like when computers came about they saw them as information storage systems.

I thought there was a table method of “destruction”. Like you delete or destroy the table of allocation. Even though the data is on the SSD, its not contiguous like HDD and so its spread into bits everywhere. However failing that, leave them unplugged (unpowered) and in 70°C plus heat, the bits will lose their electrons rapidly.

In the video he’s saying the line between center of moon and center of earth has the most tidal force on the water, while the earht spins through that zone. It was not saying that the water stays 100% stationary and land spins through it, just that the height of water will always be high at that line as the earth rotates

NixOS gives you a declarative build from a config file, so you can reproducibly deploy the same system, without worry of a system using different dependencies.
MicroOS does something similar in that you can first boot from a config file and the system builds, including services and applications.
As an audiophile, this alt-j tune has great bass on a good system. (And when not played from YouTube) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBDunSOoXNo

Technology@lemmy.world•Nearly 90% of Windows Games now run on Linux, latest data showsEnglish
0·2 months agoI think its more that you stated the obvious. Like saying 100% of Linux Appimages run on Linux. The reason to move from Windows, or one of them, is MS using telemetry and screen capture and other bloat that ruins the gamiglng experience due to processing power needed, you move that to a Linux machine and there’s no background garbage running.
For example my machine had dual boot, at idle windows was using 6% of processing power to do nothing. On Linux it was 0 to .5% to idle.
With windows updates I have to delete Ai.exe and Ai.DLL from the office folders or randomly ai starts hogging resources even if I have no office apps in use. Just a terrible user experience.

0·4 months agoAlso, Graphene has that duress mode, you set a pin/password that when entered locks out storage, does a wipe, while leaving grapheneOS in place. It seems US citizens maybe needing this in the future.
