He’s got more years in him yet. Deaf as a post and has a gammy back left leg that was degloved somehow when he was 10 (and cost 6 grand to fix), but still able to jump up on counters and the like.
As I recall, the oldest recorded cat was 38, so he has a way to go.
I honestly won’t be shocked if he has 5 more years in him at least, as he looks about 10 (and acts like it except for the incredibly loud mewling on account of being stone deaf). He has been treated like a prince.
That’s awesome. We’ve had one get to 20, and at least one to 19, but more than 20 is pretty rare regardless of the record. I believe they say average is between 13 and 20. My current cat is 15, but was recently diagnosed with kidney disease, which is a life shortener generally (super common in cats).
My old kitty is turning 20 next week. She’s got a myriad of medical problems and really bad arthritis. I don’t think I have much time left with her, but I’ve also thought that off and on the past few years…
I have a 19 year old with arthritis, and we found an amazing medication called Solensia that’s a monthly injectable, and it has made our sweet old lady look and act 10 years younger.
22 is an amazing age for a cat, good job!

Well, 20 is really good, so every year is a bonus.
