I’m fine with that. AI companies were going to/already have dataraped Wikipedia anyway without paying anything.
When I contributed things to Wikipedia I just sort of assumed they couldn’t be resold. I guess it’s true we never stop learning.
Knee jerk reaction is definitely against this. Maybe there’s some sort of justification, in that this will get those companies to stop scraping and ddosing the live site. But it’s still a sleight against all those that made it what it is.

Anyone with lingering concerns should ask themselves how long they figure before the bubble pops and this becomes moot.
