Huang is of course infinitly more knowleabout the industry than I can ever be.
But one doesn’t need to know anything about LLMs or GPUs to understand that oligarchs are corrupt and dishonest.
That’s the “gap” in Huanag’s reasoning, which I think he knows full well; he is just comfortable with lying and isn’t capable of understanding right from wrong.
Huang is technically correct that a “doomer narrative” isn’t helpful… but ironically the doomer narrative lines up more with his narrative than he may want to admit. He’s complaining about a group of people that have bought into the belief that AI will become super powerful. They just think it’ll be bad and powerful, and he thinks it’ll be good and powerful.
The legitimate critics, the ones Huang probably doesn’t want to acknowledge, criticize AI for not measuring up to any of his claims.
