I mean, I really don’t notice it with regular use, though my monitor is an IPS Black one, so might be less bad. And I definitely notice discoloration on TN panels given how close I am to my monitor =P
I’ve never heard being close as an issue, I can’t see any problems from distance myself. They just have really bad viewing angles, so yeah if you are slightly off angle to it, the edges start to fade. My IPS experience was horrible though, tried a few and the blacklight bleed/IPS glow is just horrendous. I use dark mode on everything, so there’s no avoiding seeing it. OLED gave me eye strain and burn-in isn’t something want to deal with (the monitors just become ewaste after a couple years). So… here we are with the good ol’ TN panel.
