Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney recently talked to South Korean outlet Inven Global about how UE6 will indirectly help new multiplayer games attract players.
I have never thought about it like that. I don’t like Battle Royale games, but when I jump on a game with quick and infinite respawns I do get bored pretty quickly.
I really enjoy The Finals. And ticks all the boxes I think of, great guns, mobility, destruction and small teams with clear objectives. But in Cashout(or ranked) you have limited respawn coins, or if team wiped a fairly long respawn timer. Paired with revives from teammates.
It is nice to pin point something else to consider when looking at other games.
Yup, its a good game as well. It’s a bit too zippy fast paced for my tastes. Everyone jumping and ziplining everywhere ruins a lot of the cool positional tactics that can manifest in games that keep the movement abilities modest. By the time someone calls out a position its already moot information. But finals makes up for it in other ways like the destruction, etc. Definitely a good game
