    Starlink has been criticized for filling the sky with satellites, which will become space trash. Iran is clearing space of future garbage.

        The only good news is any debris you generate has some part of its orbit extremely low due to starlink satellites being so low themselves. That’ll stop being true once debris finds something else to hit higher up but it’s easier to deorbit stuff this low since there’s really quite a bit of atmospheric drag at periapse.

      No one made SpaceX create Starshield, it was the $1.8B contract provided by Bidens government that made them want to do so. They are happy to participate in military affairs as that’s where the big money is.
