Off topic, but - Who tf is wasting energy and time to “enhance” screenshots of blockbuster movies? How is this “better”?

    The un-“enhanced” image: https://lemmy.ca/pictrs/image/31476aec-faa9-428e-ae16-7c1cea4fd404.png

Movie: Shot and edited with the best equipment and software, all by talented professionals.

GPT user: “I can make this better by throwing it in the SlopMachinetm”

I don’t even think AI was involved, probably compression + someone increasing contrast before uploading it to their Instagram @funnymemeslol page to make it POP

I’ve never seen compression make an image look like that. I have seen lots of garbage upscaling/“enhancing” do exactly that. The blurry smoothing effect and full-on alterations are dead giveaways. Notice how his eyes fully go from blue to brown?

Nah, AI was definitely involved. It is pretty standard for most social media posts these days, because it is so easy for even the most tech-iliterate person to click the slopbutton.

It is not a good movie but it is really entertaining.

Thanks. I avoided it. Probably still going to give it a miss. Thanks though.

Maybe they wanted to make him a lil orange for political reasons? Maybe it’s secretly a Simpsons shitpost.
