My christmas movies usher in the Return of the King
A real Xmas movie would be:
- Intro music, we see Scrooge sleeping on his big, comfy bed.
- Ghost appears in Scrooge’s bedroom
- Ghost sighs… “I’ve shown you the error of your ways for the last 5 years and you’re still evil.”
- Ghost: “You’re not going to change, are you?”
- Scrooge: “Nope.”
And scene.
A real Christmas movie would reveal that Tiny Tim’s condition is completely treatable, but just out of reach of Bob Cratchit’s salary, despite his repeated (denied) requests for a raise. So Scrooge is visited in the middle of the night by three Bobs with baseball bats.
Real Xmas movie has no ghosts showing up because there is no force in the universe that actually cares and the rich surround themselves with yes men who would never call them out. It’s more just the comfy bed thing.
