    That’s how certificate expirations work, though. You have to get it through a different path. And for most users letting the system update automatically is fine. They aren’t waiting with bated breath on their Winget to work…if they even know what Winget is.

    Personally I view Winget as a mediocre me-too feature that wasn’t really needed. Almost every program updates itself on windows just fine. And I know it’s coming from the vendor, not a rando, a big improvement over a lot of Linux packages (esp flatpak seemingly)

    Sounds like it autoupdates automatically, of all the things to shit on windows for this seems a little dumb. The fix is to wait a few hours or manually download an update package, hardly the end of the world.

    Aliasing invoke web request to curl being clearly a way better thing to make fun of them for.
